Vocation as a Healer

Since I was small my attention was uniquely focused on three things: the nature of true reality and what people say about it; the suffering of living things around us in the world and the record of that suffering in history, philosophy, and religions; and the myriad puzzles and inconsistencies of human behavior.

I began reading holy books from the different spiritual traditions at an early age, then progressed into some of the puzzles of modern history such as the division between east and west, including the political hostilities of the 20th century. I asked myself—why are these people fighting and dying, and why do they attempt to solve problems by hurting others? Baffled, I wondered—how can any of us be made whole by causing pain to another?

I have never lost interest in these conundrums, and continue to pursue both these questions and their answers personally and professionally. I was surprised to discover I had a gift for understanding even hidden secrets inside the souls and emotional lives of other people, but was also concerned never to intrude or to impose my own definitions or meanings on others. I hesitated to undertake healing work as I did not want to cause harm or misread what I saw. People’s heartfelt responses to my visions, insights, and comments about their hidden inner natures gradually convinced me that I was doing an errand on behalf of Spirit, and that my insights not only caused no harm, but instead brought joy, hope, and the determination to redirect unhelpful patterns within the lives of those I worked with.

My work as a healer opened in my late teens as a result of a series of important life changing dreams, coming to me over a course of years, and other ineffable experiences, which surprised both me and those I offered insights for. My profound dreams helped me ask and receive answers to important questions about providing genuine help and causing no harm.

As a young woman, I tentatively expanded my processes with Spirit’s inspiration, finding that many avenues for healing opened themselves in time of need, depending on the unique situation of the person I was working with. I offered my insights and inspirations more readily as I received astonishing feedback, and I was able to pursue the path of these insights more deeply over time, thereby expanding my own spiritual understanding and practice.

I have continued my work as a healer because those I have helped have many times expressed that the services I offer are truly life-changing. Sometimes they refer to me as a spiritual midwife, as they see a new self birthed into being by the discovery of their own deepest questions, and feel a new and clear direction for further possibilities open before them. Several people have told me that our sessions have saved years of anguish and uncertainty, for which I feel only gratitude and joy, as well as amazement at the loving assistance of Spirit to bless each of our lives.
